What you buy

A custom-made 16-bit retro video game about the person you choose, built from the story you tell us. It is digital content: it is played on a private link in the browser, with nothing to install, and comes with a digital gift card with a QR code. We don't sell or ship any physical product.

Editions and prices

Adventure: 59 €. 1 round of changes.

Celebration: 89 €. 2 rounds of changes.

Special commission: from 179 €. 3 rounds of changes.

Rush 72 h: +40 €, added to any edition.

The Special commission is charged at 179 €. If your commission needs more, we send you a quote before we start; if you don't accept it, we refund what you paid.

Final prices in euros, taxes included. Your bank may show the charge in your own currency.

Payment and guide

You start free: tell us their story with the guide (about 10 minutes) and pay at the end, once you've seen how it looks. Before building it we show you the script: if it doesn't convince you, we refund 100 %.

You pay at the end, when you send their story, with Stripe (card, Apple Pay or Google Pay). Stripe emails you the receipt and the invoice.

Recommend us and you both get 10 €

Every order has its referral link (youthegame.com/r/…), which we give you with the delivery. Whoever arrives through it gets 10 € off their first game, applied automatically at checkout.

When their order is paid, we refund 10 € to the card you paid yours with (a partial refund: Stripe emails you the receipt).

Small print: both orders must be paid; once per referred order; up to 5 referrals per order and never more than you paid; it doesn't work with your own order and can't be combined with invitations. If your payment is older than 180 days or can't be refunded to the card, we refund it another way: we'll write to you.

Delivery times

You get it within 7 days of completing the guide, or within 72 hours with Rush. If something is missing, we write to you and the clock starts once we have it.

Script, changes and refund

Before building the game we show you the script. If it doesn't convince you, we refund your money.

Before building the game we show you the script: you can change anything there. Once the game is built, you get 1 round of changes with Adventure, 2 with Celebration and 3 with the Special commission.

A round covers: texts and lines, names, appearance details (hair, glasses, clothes…), the chosen music, small reorderings. Adding chapters or new mechanics after the script is approved. If you want that, we'll quote it.

Right of withdrawal

It is custom-made digital content. When you pay you expressly ask us to start right away and accept that, once production has started, you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal (article 103 of the Spanish consumer protection law, which implements article 16 of EU Directive 2011/83).

That doesn't take away the refund if the script doesn't convince you, nor your rights if the game doesn't work as promised: in that case we fix it or refund your money.

How long it will be available

Your game will stay online for at least 5 years from delivery; if we ever had to take it down, we'll warn you well in advance and give you a way to keep it.

Use of the game

The game is for personal use: give it, play it and share the link with whoever you like. The link is private and not in search engines; if it leaks, we swap it for a new one.

When ordering you confirm that you may share the story and photos of the people in it.
